INCOTEC CARGO arranged equipment delivery for Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2

INCOTEC CARGO delivered core melt trap with total weight of 770 tons for second power unit of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2 from Baltiysky Zavod JSC to Sosnoviy Bor.

The full title of the item is core melt isolator. This device provides passive protection and in case of an accident prevents radioactive elements leakage. The set of equipment consisted of 11 units weighing from 14 to 161 tons with total weight of 770 tons.

5 units were delivered to Sosnoviy Bor by trucks. The rest of them were oversized and heavyweight and their transportation have been arranged both by trucks and water transport.  First the cargo was delivered to the place of discharge by floating crane and then this crane reloaded equipment on trucks which delivered it to the job site of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2.

Dimensions of the biggest units are: trap vessel on saddles - height and diameter 6.15 meters, weight 161 tons; steel construction - height 2.4 meters, diameter 9.3 meters, weight 127 tons.

This time is not the first one when INCOTEC CARGO arranges transportation of heavyweight and oversized cargo for second power unit construction of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2. In autumn 2009 we delivered identical core melt trap which was also produced by Baltiysky Zavod JSC. Moreover, in October 2012 our Company delivered more than 1 000 tons of heavyweight and oversized power-generating equipment.

Reference note.
