INCOTEC CARGO completed the inland transportation project of 15 heavyweight and oversized Heating Surface Blocks with their total weight of 750 tons from Moscow Region to the job site of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP.
The delivery has been carried out from December 2014 till January 2015. Within this period of time it has been delivered to the job site 15 long-length Blocks with their unit weight from 40 to 55 tons. The length of the units transported exceeded 23 meters, width 4 meters and height 1.2 meters.
The special feature of this project was the fact that loading the cargo on trucks took several days. The first stage was loading on trailer the empty frame of the Block. Then, one by one, into the frame there was loaded the necessary number of sections (depending on the Block type). The final stage there was welding works in order to finish Blocks packaging. The loading and packaging of each Block took 3 days in average.
For inland transportation of Heating Surface Blocks to Verkhny Tagil there have been involved specialized telescopic trailers of respective payload, which were moved apart as of equipment length, up to 23 meters. Conventional length of trailer platform is 13-14 meters depending on exact model. Within the frames of the project there have been used 6 trailers in total. Shipments were carried out by convoys of 2 or 4 trailers with relevant number of escort vehicles. Since the shipment has been arranged in winter time and the route passed along Ural’s roads (one way distance was over 2 200 km), the total transit time per each convoy was from 6 to 8 days.
