INCOTEC CARGO continues to arrange shipments of the first equipment of Atomstroyexport for the Second Construction Stage of NPP Kudankulam, India.
On December 8, 2016 the first lot of oversized equipment has been shipped from the Port of Saint Petersburg for the second construction stage of NPP Kudankulam (Units 3 and 4), India.
16 specialized type of containers - 40’ Flat Racks – were used for this shipment.
Within the frames of this project, INCOTEC CARGO arranged for Atomstroyexport the full range of logistics services on CIF Port of Tuticorin (India) terms. INCOTEC CARGO was responsible for the following: cargo receipt at the Port of Saint Petersburg, additional packaging the cargo for transportation in open containers, working out the scheme of stuffing and cargo securing in containers, stuffing and securing the cargo, survey, documentation, loading stuffed containers on board of a vessel, delivery to the Port of Tuticorin and unloading to the Port’s warehouse.
The peculiarity of this shipment was the fact, that it was necessary to keep delivery completeness taking into consideration traditional peak season – the winter period, the end of the year. Equipment had to be shipped as one consignment. For that purpose 16 empty Flat Rack containers were timely positioned at the Port of Saint Petersburg, free period required for stuffing and securing the cargo was agreed beforehand, loading on board at a the Port of Saint Petersburg has been implemented all at once. Indian Container Line SARJAK provided specialized containers.
Currently INCOTEC CARGO consolidates 3 consignments of oversized equipment at the Port of Saint Petersburg for NPP Kudankulam. 25 containers of 40’ Flat Rack type will be used for this cargo.
Overall, from the beginning of equipment shipments for the Second Construction Stage of NPP Kudankulam, INCOTEC CARGO has dispatched 2 000 freight tons of standard and oversized equipment by means of 114 containers of different types (Dry Van, Open Top, Flat Rack).
