INCOTEC CARGO Ltd. shipped 110 000 tons of equipment for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station (India)
INCOTEC CARGO Ltd. has arranged the shipment of the next consignment of equipment for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station which is under construction in Indian state Tamil Nadu. Thus the total volume of cargo under this project equals 110 000 tons or 357 000 freight tons.
There was equipment and hazardous cargo in containers which could not be consolidated and shipped in large lot due to their technical requirements and urgency in delivery.
During the year 2010 INCOTEC CARGO Ltd. by order of Atomstroyexport JSC shipped to India 150 containers of standard type like 20, 40DV and special ones like Open Top in cooperation with such carriers as Safmarine/Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag Lloyd. The Agreement for transportation of heavyweight and oversized equipment for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station construction between Atomstroyexport JSC and INCOTEC CARGO was signed in autumn 2002.
During the period of time from April 2003 till October 2010 to the address of Indian Nuclear Power Station it was shipped 49 lots of equipment of total weight 110 000 tons or 357 000 freight tons. It is planned to complete shipments for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station in autumn 2011. The first consignment was exported on 27 April 2003 on board of m/v “WIND ADMIRAL”. Its volume was 1 355 tons or 6 600 freight tons. It consisted of initial equipment supply such as: pipe lines, filters of different functionality, rolled steel, metal tanks etc.
Equipment has been delivered to the port of Saint Petersburg by trucks and railway ex works the manufactures from different cities of Russian Federation. In general under the Agreement with Atomstroyexport JSC, INCOTEC CARGO implemented a number of unique transportations of heavyweight and oversized equipment for Indian Nuclear Power Station. These included handling operations in the port of two stators weighing 366 tons each with dimensions of 9960 х 5110 х 4730mm produced by OJSC Power Machines Electrosila’s branch, two reactors produced by Izhorskiye Zavody weighing 329 tons each (11270 х 5600 х 5800mm), eight steam generators produced by JSC Machine-Building Factory of Podolsk weighing 317 tons each (14300 x 4346 x 5062mm) etc.
The majority of the equipment required special conditions of transportation. For example: tanks transportation with dimensions of 9 meters in diameter and 11 meters in height was carried out strictly in upright position. Complete power equipment deliveries have been carried out by INCOTEC CARGO ex works the leading machine-building and power plants of Russian Federation: Izhorskiye Zavody, OJSC Power Machines, branches of Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod (LMZ), Electrosila, JSC Machine-Building Factory of Podolsk etc.
