The First and The Second steam-generators for the second construction stage of Nuclear Power Plant were discharged at The Port of Saint Petersburg

On October 30th and November 20th ,2014  at The Port of Saint Petersburg’s    were discharged two steam-generators (unit weight  318 ton) for  their next transportation to China for the Tianwan NPP construction (units №3 and №4).

Under the instruction  of CJSC «ATOMSTROYEXPORT»  Steam-generators were produced at OJSC «Machine Engineering Plant  ZIO-Podolsk ». Steam-generators were delivered on  28 axles transporter linked-type with bearing capacity 400 tons, with individual locomotive, total quantity of rolling stock 13 units, including control frame and 10 buffer wagons.

The constructive peculiarity of this rolling stock type is that  cargo is placed on a special platform, consisted of  major nodes, buckles with frame and all construction ( with total weight over 370 tons) as if “crammed” between two sections of linked-type transporter.

Transportation major  nodes  lock  the Steam-generator between two sections of transporter, sections are connected with each other by strainer   with  frames, which is located under the steam-generator bottom side and has a supporting role for cargo ( as showed on the attached pictures).

With the  floating   crane “ Demag” and transporter’s hydraulic system the steam-generator  was hefted, metallic spacer plate was set under the strainer with frames, all rejection construction of  tension on assembly fixture was installed on rigid foundation,  stringer beads, which connect  the platform with cargo and two sections of transporter,  were unscrewed  and sections were separated.

Next step – supporting nodes  were removed by shore cranes , steam-generator  was installed on transport saddles , which were earlier produced by our company by  order of Manufacturer, saddles were fixed, cargo was loaded on floating  crane pontoon, delivered and discharged at a storage area on special metal construction for providing bearing capacity on the berth.

All operations from beginning till the end of pre-construction activities of discharging had taken  more than 10 hours  as average per steam-generator.

In this activity were involved floating crane “Demag”, two shore cranes, lift-trucks of different capacity,  team of stevedores, floating crane staff, marine terminal technologists, team for installing and fixing saddles, oxygen cutters, support team for the  linked-type transporter. Total control and cooperation of all participants was conducted by “INCOTEC CARGO” specialists.

These two Steam-generators, as well as the First Reactor Vessel, are going to be shipped on m/v “HUANGHAI STRUGGLER” which is going to arrive at The  Port of Saint Petersburg  on 27.11.2014.

There are  two Steam-generators  in turn, which arrival is planned December, 2014.
