The Next Shipment for the Second Construction Stage of Nuclear Power Plant in China was loaded in the Port of Saint Petersburg.

On November 29th, 2014 the loading of the 3rdshipment for the Taiwan NPP construction (Units №3 and №4) on board of m/v “HUANGHAI STRUGGLER” was completed.

By order of the Shipper JSC «ATOMSTROYEXPORT» 49 units of equipment (total weight 1190 tons) were loaded on board of the m/v, including the 1st Reactor Vessel (weight 322 tons) and two Steam Generators (each unit weight 318 tons). The loading of the m/v has been arranged on berth No 23 of the Port of Saint Petersburg. 

Reactor Vessel and Steam Generators were loaded on the m/v by means of floating   crane “Demag”, the rest equipment by shore cranes.

 

Operational scheme of “Demag” activity included three consequent passages with heavyweight units from the berth of storage to the board of the vessel, including loading of heavyweights on floating crane’s pontoon, passage to the m/v, mooring alongside the m/v, loading of heavyweight equipment on board of the m/v, returning to the berth of storage for the next heavyweight unit.

Activity of the floating crane “Demag” was effected in strict accordance with Maritime Administration schedule, based on daily plan of passenger and cargo ship traffic in the harbour of the Port of Saint Petersburg. As a result, the shipment was loaded on board in full volume and on due time.

The next vessel for loading the 4th shipment is planned for the end of December 2014.
