INCOTEC CARGO Has Closed the Year of 2015 with the Shipment of Reactor Vessel for Tianwan NPP-2.

By order of JSC “Atomstroyexport” 16 items of equipment have been loaded on board of m/v “TRINA” with their total weight of 355 tons including the second Reactor Vessel for Unit № 4 with its weight of 323 tons.

For a variety of reasons, the Manufacturer (Izhorskiye Zavody) has carried out delivery of Reactor Vessel to the Port of Saint Petersburg by road transport, by means of specialized transporter.
Considering the way of Reactor Vessel transportation and dimensional and weight characteristics of the trailer (length 99 meters, weight 660 tons), the cargo could be delivered to the 4th Terminal of the Port of Saint Petersburg only.
This circumstance, as well as construction of Western High-Speed Diameter (ZSD) over the Sea Channel excluded the possibility of the floating crane “Demag” passage to the 4th Terminal of the Port and its usage for transshipment. Thus, the only possible operational scheme has been specified – direct reloading from the trailer on board of a specially chartered for this shipment vessel by means of vessel’s cranes.
To implement such transshipment scheme, on the territory of the Port it has been prepared the site for parking the trailer for the period of customs formalities (empty containers were shifted to the back zone), direct reloading was agreed with the Customs Authorities.
In a mandatory manner, together with the Port divisions, calculations of loads on the pier were made and the scheme of the trailer positioning during reloading operation has been determined, taking into consideration the vessel’s cranes lifting capacity.
In accordance with the Manufacturer’s instructions on reloading, synthetic slings were bought and used instead of steel slings, which were available on board of the vessel.
The work execution plan has been drawn up together with the Shipowner - SAL Heavy Lift and the Consignee’s Agent in China, ballasting operations for the work period and pontoon rigging providing m/v TRINA stability, have been carried out by the crew.
Coordination and control of the whole reloading process of Reactor Vessel has been held by INCOTEC CARGO specialists.
As a result, in the presence of Consignee`s representatives, the loading of the 10th lot has been successfully finished on 29th December 2015.
